Dance students impressed the crowd with a range of dazzling performances
Hundreds of students from 35 primary and secondary Catholic schools from across the Diocese showcased their creative talents in a series of music, dance and strings performances throughout June, culminating in the ‘Best Of’ performance on 23 June.
The showcase events demonstrated the high calibre of choral, music and dance work from Catholic schools, under the Parramatta Diocese’s creative and performing arts initiative, CAPTIVATE.
The program provides learning and performance experiences for students, as well as builds expertise and a sense of community across the system.
CAPTIVATE is very popular with five new schools joining the program since last year.

What a magnificent day of celebration! It was a joy to welcome all our wonderful grandparents into our beautiful new school building - some for the first time. The perfect weather made the day truly memorable! Thank you to everyone who participated in our classroom liturgy. A huge thank you also to our talented verse speakers, choir, and band for the wonderful entertainment, and to our dedicated teachers for all their hard work and preparation. It was heart-warming to see the connection during the rug reading and the delightful picnic on our beautiful grounds. We are so grateful for the love and support you share with our students! Thank you for making Grandparents Day a resounding success!

We congratulate all our Year 6 students who received the gifts of the Holy Spirit through the Sacrament of Confirmation on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Bishop Vincent Long, Fr Fernando Montano-Rodriguez and Fr Peter Williams all spoke beautifully about these gifts given by God to help each young person grow and flourish in faith. May this sacrament continue to guide them in their call to be holy and to live as followers of Christ. As they continue to prepare for the next stage of their journey into high school, may they always remember our school motto, Let Your Light Shine, sharing God’s love and goodness with those around them. We thank Fr Chris, the parish Sacramental team, parents and sponsors for their support in the program.

This week, Year 5 showcased their learning about the important work of the Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS), teaching students and families about the work for those in need. They engaged their audiences creatively to teach them how JRS provides a lifeline to refugees, people seeking asylum, and migrants facing homelessness.
