Year 2 have been experimenting with plants in class recently by looking at how missing nutrients, water, warmth and sunlight change how they grow.
The students have planted new seeds to see the difference in how they will grow if something important is missing. They also looked at how water travels through roots and stems of various plants.
It is also exciting to see some of our broad bean plants growing!

What a magnificent day of celebration! It was a joy to welcome all our wonderful grandparents into our beautiful new school building - some for the first time. The perfect weather made the day truly memorable! Thank you to everyone who participated in our classroom liturgy. A huge thank you also to our talented verse speakers, choir, and band for the wonderful entertainment, and to our dedicated teachers for all their hard work and preparation. It was heart-warming to see the connection during the rug reading and the delightful picnic on our beautiful grounds. We are so grateful for the love and support you share with our students! We congratulate all our Year 6 students who received the gifts of the Holy Spirit through the Sacrament of Confirmation on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Bishop Vincent Long, Fr Fernando Montano-Rodriguez and Fr Peter Williams all spoke beautifully about these gifts given by God to help each young person grow and flourish in faith. May this sacrament continue to guide them in their call to be holy and to live as followers of Christ. As they continue to prepare for the next stage of their journey into high school, may they always remember our school motto, Let Your Light Shine, sharing God’s love and goodness with those around them. They engaged their audiences creatively to teach them how JRS provides a lifeline to refugees, people seeking asylum, and migrants facing homelessness.
