Grandparents day 2019

By Camryn, Freya And Kathryn (Year 5)

On the 1st of November 2019, St Angelas celebrated Grandparents Day. Grandparents Day is about honouring how special our grandparents are to us, which means it's pretty big!

Every year we show our visitors the many talents that St Angelas has. Some of these include the choir, dance crew and band. Every grandparent’s day, the junior band, (or the training band) perform for the first time! Sometimes we have other show features, such as Dance Fever, the acoustic guitar group and interviews with grandparents! We finished our liturgy with one of Mr Calabria’s hilarious stories!

After the liturgy, our very special grandparents came into our classroom and we had fun showing them displays, artworks, and all of our amazing schoolwork. In year 5, we even prepared a quiz! This quiz was fun for the grandparents to complete, along with the help of their grandchildren, who showed them how to complete it, in a Google Form, on the computer. Along with a grandparent’s day activity, there was a book sale. The library was flooded with guests who had smiles pinned onto their faces. Morning tea was served in the hall with lots of yummy treats.

Our grandparents are special to us. That is why we celebrate such a day. Grandparents spoil us, help us, encourage us and provide us with an everlasting love.
